Ss Paul Miki & Comps. Martyrs

4th Week in Ordinary Time (B) : Saturday 6th February 2021

Heb. 13:15-17,20-21; Ps. 22:1-4,5,6;
Mk. 6:30-34 (Ps Wk IV)

Today we come to the end of the Letter to the Hebrews. The writer urges the community to live in faithfulness and peace, with Christ as the centre. We Christians live in a web of relationships. A triangle may best represent the network of relationships. The three points of the triangle symbolise oneself, others and the world. It is a triangle of love.

We offer an unending sacrifice of praise to the God of peace, who saves us from death with Jesus’ blood, and continues to guide us in this life into the next. Members of the faith community show their love into the next. Members of the faith community show their love for one another by obeying their leaders, who are shepherding the people in Jesus Christ’s footsteps, the Shepherd. They love one another by doing works that please God, for example, sharing resources.

Today we take time out from our busyness to re-join Jesus, as the apostles did in today’s Gospel reading, and tell Jesus how we have loved. Let us hear Jesus say to us, ‘Come away to some lonely place all by yourselves and rest for a while.’

Lord, help us share resources because all comes from You. Give us peace.
