Matthew 18:1-5
The disciples came to Jesus and said, ‘Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’
So he called a little child to him and set the child in front of them. Then he said, ‘I tell you solemnly, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. And so, the one who makes himself as little as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
‘Anyone who welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.’

- In today’s Gospel, Jesus uses a child as a model for us to live the Gospel that He proclaims because a child is humble, trusting and dependent on others.
- If we are to be followers of Christ, then to serve Him means that we are to strive to glorify Him in all that we do. For this we need to battle the secular values of power, fame and financial gains that often influence our daily living.
- Let us seek the help of the Holy Spirit to guide and strengthen us on our life’s journey that is paved with many temptations and challenges.
