Daily Word Of God

Luke 10:13-16

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Alas for you, Chorazin! Alas for you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. And still, it will not go as hard with Tyre and Sidon at the Judgement as with you. And as for you, Capernaum, did you want to be  exalted high as heaven? You shall be thrown down to hell.

‘Anyone who listens to you listens to me; anyone who rejects you rejects me, and those who reject me reject the one who sent me.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • We reject God when we turn away from Christ’ teachings and the many miracles and signs that He has shown us. No amount of “self-convincing” can erase the Truth of God that we refuse to obey.

  • The “Truth” of God e.g. Christ coming to die and offer us eternal salvation, will always remain the “Truth” for all times, regardless of how much we choose to cling on to our selfish/narrow opinions, desires and ways.

  • We know we are drawing closer to God when we care and think about the things that God cares and thinks about. Are we making all efforts to draw ourselves closer to God?
