Daily Word Of God

Luke 10:21-24

Filled with joy by the Holy Spirit, Jesus said, ‘I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to little children. Yes, Father, for that is what it has pleased you to do. Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.’

Then turning to his disciples he spoke to them by themselves, ‘Blessed are the eyes that see what you see, for I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see, and never saw it; to hear what you hear, and never heard it.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us that the Truth of His Teachings is more fully received by those who have childlike simplicity of heart that is not prejudiced and ego-centred.

  • The knowledge of Jesus and His Teachings are important e.g. knowledge of the Bible and knowing Jesus as a person comes from loving Him in our daily living.

  • During Jesus’ time on earth, while He preached about His Father, He revealed the Father to us more fully and powerfully through the way He lived and eventually died on the Cross for us and our Salvation. How are we living and witnessing to the Gospel daily?
