Daily Word Of God

Matthew 18:12-14

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Tell me. Suppose a man has a hundred sheep and one of them strays; will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hillside and go in search of the stray?

‘In truth I tell you, if he finds it, it gives him more joy than do the ninety-nine that did not stray at all. Similarly, it is never the will of your Father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • Love is beyond logic and is found in the heart of the person who loves, and in as much as he is willing to love. We see such love commonly expressed in a mother’s love for her child.

  • Christ’s love for us is infinitely greater – the Son of God willing to suffer and die just so that all who are willing to accept Him as our Saviour and Lord and live in His ways can gain eternal life.

  • How much love are you willing to show to others and more importantly to God? How have you shown and lived this love?  Do you desire to love God more?
