Daily Word Of God

Luke 21:29-33

Jesus told his disciples a parable, ‘Look at the fig tree and indeed every tree. As soon as you see them bud, you can see for yourselves that summer is now near. So with you when you see these things happening: know that the kingdom of God is near.

‘In truth I tell you, before this generation has passed away all will have taken place. Sky and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • God is constantly revealing Himself and His Will to us. He gives us many signs, He makes them clear to us but, often we are not open to His Spirit.

  • Part of us tends to resist any change in our lifestyle that God demands of us.  Thus, we will not be able to recognize the divine signs even though God gives us the needed graces.

  • Do we want to grow in our faith?  If so, how can we change our attitudes and lifestyles in order to be more open to recognize God’s signs more fully and more willingly?
