Daily Word Of God

John 14:11-14

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘You must believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe it on the evidence of these works. In all truth I tell you, whoever believes in me will perform the same works as I do myself, and will perform even greater works, because I am going to the Father.

‘Whatever you ask in my name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • We profess to be believers of Christ, yet many of us face great difficulties in trying to integrate our prayer life into our daily concerns for our family, work and relationships with people.

  • One way to be more fully attentive to God in prayer is to persevere and to give quality time to God. Treat our prayer time as “sacred” and the most important part of the day. Begin by setting aside say 15 minutes a day for prayer.

  • Once we are committed to praying at such “sacred” moments each day, regardless of what happens, we will be truly amazed at God’s generosity. He will surely give us abundant graces at all times.
