Lord, help me to continue to witness to Christ and to live out God’s love in our lives
7th Week in Easter : Saturday, 23rd May 2026
Acts 28:16-20, 30-31; Ps 10 (11):4-5, 7; Jn 21:20-25 (Ps Wk III)
In Jerusalem, the Jewish leaders had laid charges against Paul. As Paul was a Roman citizen, he insisted that he be taken to Rome to be tried. When he arrived in Rome, he was allowed to live on his own with a soldier guarding him. Paul called together the leaders of the Jewish community to explain his situation. They were interested in what Paul was teaching so he continued sharing the news of the Gospel. In spite of his imprisonment, Paul did not stop preaching or teaching about Jesus Christ.
Like Paul, even though we may be constrained in many ways, we should not give up on witnessing to Christ and live out God’s love in our lives.
After the Resurrection, Jesus had appeared on the shore while several disciples were fishing. He cooked breakfast for them. Afterwards Jesus was talking to Peter, telling him to feed Jesus’ sheep. But Peter was distracted because John was following them. Jesus told him not to worry about John — Peter’s calling was to follow Jesus.
How often do we compare ourselves to others? Each of us has been called by Jesus to a unique mission and we are not to worry about the calling of another. There should not be any competition or comparison among us.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to be the person You are calling me to be.
