Hos. 2:16,17b-18,21-22; Ps. 144:2-3,4-5,6-7,8-9;
Mt. 9:18-26 (Ps Wk II)

God has established a covenant beyond usual expectations, and if we look carefully at the wording, it is a covenant not only with humanity, but with all creation. And all creation has a part in this covenant with God, which has implications for us today.

God cares for the entire creation, and they are in as much of a relationship with God as we are. If we accept this as the word of God, we must rethink how we ravage and rape the earth. All creation is sacred.

Here, Jesus heals two people of distinctly different backgrounds – the daughter of a leader of the synagogue and a woman struggling with a bleeding disorder. Jesus meets them where they are. First of all, He heals the woman in the street on His way to heal the daughter of the synagogue leader. Two very different places for healing and yet there is a common thread – faith! The woman showed deep faith, as did the leader of the synagogue, and the result was two physical healings that day. Faith was at the centre of them both.

Lord, help my unbelief and increase my faith.
