With God, all things are possible! Nothing is impossible with God!

3rd Week of Easter : Friday 6th May 2022

Acts 8:26-40; Ps. 65:8-9,16-17,20;
Jn. 6:44-51 (Ps Wk III)

Can someone who persecuted the followers of Christ become a preacher of the message of Jesus Christ? Paul is proof that it can happen. Paul, the persecutor of Christians, undergoes a dramatic conversion experience that changes him into a preacher of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The news of Paul’s transformation amazes and also confuses the people, including the Christian believers. It is no wonder that Ananias was very reluctant to follow God’s instructions to visit Paul and pray for him. Paul’s dramatic change seems unbelievable, almost impossible.

Can someone offer his body to be eaten and his blood to drink? It sounds unthinkable, almost impossible. However, this is what Jesus teaches the people. No wonder they reacted angrily towards Him. They fail to understand the deeper meaning of Jesus’ message. The flesh and blood that Jesus gives is not perishable food but is the source of eternal life. More importantly, Jesus is not only the giver of the bread of life; He is, Himself, the bread from heaven, feeding those who believe. He is the bread of wisdom and revelation who nourishes all to come to Him in faith.

The key message in today’s Scripture readings is that human beings may think or say something as unthinkable or impossible, but all things are possible with God. This is the crucial message in the Scripture readings today.

Lord, help me to trust You in all things.
