Wounded Yet Giving
Scripture:
God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom 5:8)
Reflection:
The pierced Heart of Jesus reveals a love that gives even when it is wounded. Rather than withdrawing, He pours Himself out. Our instinct may be to protect ourselves from hurt, but Christ shows another way: to love without counting the cost, to toil without seeking for rest, to labour without seeking for reward. This does not mean ignoring pain, but offering it. In our wounds, we can either harden or become more compassionate. The Sacred Heart invites us to transform suffering into a deeper capacity to love.
Prayer:
O my Jesus, Your Heart was pierced for me when I’m still a sinner. I’m sorry for my sins. I love You in return and I ask for (name your request here).
Our Father… Hail Mary…
Glory Be to the Father…
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.
Amen.
(Spend some quiet time in prayer with Jesus … speak to Jesus… hear Jesus… feel His Presence with you)

Closing Prayer for each day
Lord Jesus, Your Sacred Heart is always open, with love, to each of us, especially when we are suffering. To all who come to You seeking Your help, You show Your compassion and healing power. You care for us when we are lost, sympathise with us in loneliness and comfort us in mourning; You are closest to us when we are weakest. You reach out Your hand to us when we stumble and have most need of Your help. I ask You to listen to my prayer during this Novena, and grant what I ask. …
If what I ask is not for my own or other’s good, grant me always what is best, that I may build Your kingdom of love in our world. Amen.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.
