Daily Word Of God

John 3:16-18

Jesus said to Nicodemus: ‘God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

‘For God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but so that through him the world might be saved. No one who believes in him will be judged; but whoever does not believe is judged already, because that person does not believe in the Name of God’s only Son.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • God gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus, who freely offered Himself as the atoning sacrifice for our sins and the sins of the world. God’s love is a redemptive love that embraces the whole world and a personal love for each and every individual whom He has created.

  • God gives us the freedom to choose whom to love. The demands of life can distract and even hinder our way of loving God with all our heart, mind and spirit.

  • Is God the first priority in your life, in your thoughts, and actions? Do you love God above all else? Is God your first thought when you wake up in the morning? Do you give your ‘first’ to God?
