Daily Word Of God

John 14:7-14

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘You must believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe it on the evidence of these works. In all truth I tell you, whoever believes in me will perform the same works as I do myself, and will perform even greater works, because I am going to the Father.

‘Whatever you ask in my name I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • Jesus exclaimed that since His actions i.e. miracles mirror those of the Father, they testify to the fact that He and the Father are in perfect unity.

  • Jesus went further to say that all whoever “believes in Him will perform the same work as He Himself did.” His divine power will work through us as His instruments and disciples.

  • In your mission to participate in Jesus’ redemptive work, what divine gifts would you “ask for in His Name” so that you can “glorify Jesus’ Father even more?
