Reflection on the WORD

“Jesus’ Compassionate Love” – Faith: Jesus proclaimed the Gospel of Eternal Salvation; cured the sick; and expelled evil spirits. Ponder on, “We are fragile and weak: prone to sickness; vulnerable to hurts from others’ words and deeds. But, when we build a deep relationship with Jesus, He transforms our lives into God’s Truth, Peace and Love.

Luke 8:1-3

Jesus made his way through towns and villages preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. With him went the Twelve, as well as certain women who had been cured of evil spirits and ailments: Mary surnamed the Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, Joanna the wife of Herod's steward Chuza, Susanna, and many others who provided for them out of their own resources.

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • Jesus, accompanied by His Twelve disciples and some women, went round to towns and villages to proclaim the Good News of salvation. 
  • The different Ministries in our Church are different ways of bringing the Good News of salvation to the believers of our community.  Thus, we are all called to serve in these ministries with great zeal and commitment. 
  • Like Jesus and His disciples, we also need to serve in communion with and support of one another so that our witnessing of the Good News is evident through our lives. How are we living this out?
