Reflection on the WORD
“Genuine Faith”: In today’s Gospel, the Pharisees demanded a sign from Jesus, to test Him. Jesus refused to fall into their trap and went away. Ponder on, “Is our trust in God’s Providence to protect and provide for all our needs; deep? Do we ‘test’ God’s Love and Mercy, by expecting God to grant us what we ask and want, or else we would love Him less?
Mark 8:11-13
The Pharisees came up and started a discussion with Jesus; they demanded of him a sign from heaven, to put him to the test.
And with a profound sigh he said, ‘Why does this generation demand a sign? In truth I tell you, no sign shall be given to this generation.’ And, leaving them again, he re-embarked and went away to the other side.
