Reflection on the WORD
Two Great Commandments – Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaimed, “You must love God with all your heart, soul and mind. . . And, you must love your neighbour as yourself.” Ponder on: If we live both of these inseparable Commandments, we will receive God’s fullest Blessings, and we will witness the Good News of Jesus, with wisdom and great joy.
Matthew 22:34-40
When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees they got together and, to disconcert him, one of them put a further question, ‘Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?’
Jesus said, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets also.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- Loving God is the greatest commandment because God created the whole universe, all creatures and human beings in it.
- Loving our neighbour is the second greatest commandment because we need to test the sincerity of our love for God.
- How much love do you have in your heart and home? Are you a happy and fulfilled person? Both questions are inseparably linked. Ponder on this truth today.
