Reflection on the WORD
Joys of Loving Jesus with His Father: In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaims to His disciples, “Anything you ask from My Father, He will grant in My Name, and your Joy will be complete. . . As My Father Loves you for loving Me.” Ponder on: When we love Jesus, we are loving His Father, in the Holy Spirit, and our Joys will be deep, personal and lasting. How have you experienced this grace?
John 16:23b-28
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘In all truth I tell you, anything you ask from the Father he will grant in my name. Until now you have not asked anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and so your joy will be complete. I have been telling you these things in veiled language. The hour is coming when I shall no longer speak to you in veiled language but tell you about the Father in plain words.
When that day comes you will ask in my name; and I do not say that I shall pray to the Father for you, because the Father himself loves you for loving me, and believing that I came from God. I came from the Father and have come into the world and now I am leaving the world to go to the Father.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- The Lord will reward those who are faithful to Him, and will always listen to the prayers of those who trust Him
- It is true that trusting can be difficult at times. However, if we have any doubt, we should simply remember that Jesus’ Love for us is so great that He died on the cross for us even though we do not deserve it.
- It is precisely because of this sacrifice that we know Jesus loves us. He will definitely listen to all our needs with compassion and love.
