Reflection on the WORD
Jesus’ Personal Love: In today’s Gospel, Jesus was deeply moved by the death of the only son of a woman in the town of Nain, and raised him to life. Ponder on: Jesus’ Love for all peoples, is always very personal. He knows our needs, pains and dreams. If our faith in Him is also personal and deep, we will be able to know how to unite our lives with His.
Luke 7:11b-17
Jesus went to a town called Nain, accompanied by his disciples and a great number of people. Now when he was near the gate of the town there was a dead man being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a considerable number of the townspeople was with her.
When the Lord saw her he felt sorry for her and said to her, ‘Don't cry.’ Then he went up and touched the bier and the bearers stood still, and he said, ‘Young man, I tell you: get up.’
And the dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him to his mother. Everyone was filled with awe and glorified God saying, ‘A great prophet has risen up among us; God has visited his people.’ And this view of him spread throughout Judaea and all over the countryside.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- Jesus' analogy of Moses raising His bronze serpent in the desert with Himself being lifted up on His Cross. This will bring deep healing, peace and in due course, everlasting life to all who believe in Him.
- God demonstrated concretely how His redemptive love for us is infinite and unconditional when He did not spare His Son to atone for our sins and those of the world throughout human history.
- Let us never forget to thank God with deep gratitude for His Mercy and Love and for making us His sons and daughters and with Jesus as our brother and Lord.
