Reflection on the WORD
World Social Communications Sunday – Faith: In today’s secular world, the message of the Truth of Salvation is often distorted. In fact, many who use social media promote negative values that are against the Gospel Valuesof Jesus. Ponder on: Jesus proclaimed the Truth that Glorifies His Father. Do we glorify God through our lives?
Jn 17:1-7
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said: ‘Father, the hour has come: glorify your Son so that your Son may glorify you; so that, just as you have given him power over all humanity, he may give eternal life to all those you have entrusted to him. And eternal life is this: to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
‘I have glorified you on earth by finishing the work that you gave me to do. Now, Father, glorify me with that glory I had with you before ever the world existed. I have revealed your name to those whom you took from the world to give me. They were yours and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now at last they have recognised that all you have given me comes from you.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- In today's Gospel, Jesus prays, “Father, the hour has come to glorify Your Son so that Your Son may glorify You.” This prayer expresses Jesus’ deep desires for us to come to know and love His Father as our Creator and Lord, and Him as our Saviour and friend.
- Through His Crucifixion and Resurrection Jesus fulfilled the Will of His Father perfectly, so that the gates of heaven are open to all peoples who believe in Him as our Redeemer.
- In showing God to us and to the world we are each challenged to glorify God and love Jesus daily. So that through our witnessing, more people are drawn closer to God daily and live His Will.
