Reflection on the WORD
Eternal Destination – Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaims the “Parable of the Dragnet” to remind us that every person will have to die and face the truth of their “eternal destination”. Ponder on: Do we live in God’s Ways and long to be in His Kingdom of heaven when we die? If so, how are we witnessing to this in our Daily living?
Matthew 13:47-52
Jesus said to the crowds: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet cast into the sea that brings in a haul of all kinds. When it is full, the fishermen haul it ashore; then, sitting down, they collect the good ones in a basket and throw away those that are no use. This is how it will be at the end of time: the angels will appear and separate the wicked from the just, to throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.
‘Have you understood all these?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ And he said to them, ‘Well then, every scribe who becomes a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out from his storeroom things both new and old.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •On Judgment day, every person will have to face God’s Justice. The outcome of this judgment is not for us to say. This is up to God’s Justice and Compassion.
- •As a “dragnet” hauls in every kind of fish, every person will be judged by God on this “Judgment Day” whether each had answered the call to draw as many people as possible towards God in his/her life.
- •Resolve to walk closely with God daily so that you will face your judgment with great joy. The challenge begins here and now.
