Our Lady, Mother of the Church: Monday 6th June, 2022 June 6, 2022
Reflection on the WORD
Mary, Mother of the Church: Before Jesus died on the Cross He proclaimed His Mother as the “Mother of all believers in the Church.” Ponder on: Jesus’ Love for His Mother is deeply connected to His Love for all believers. He wants His Mother to care and love us, and also wants us to be Mary’s children and embrace Her love at all times.
John 19:25-27
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala.
Seeing his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother, ‘Woman, this is your son.’ Then to the disciple he said, ‘This is your mother.’ And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •Mary, as Mother of Jesus, nursed, cared and loved Him unconditionally. Her love for Jesus and her obedience to God our Father’s Will are inseparable.
- •Mary’s love for Jesus was total and single-minded. As such, she accepts the mystery of Her Son’s suffering and death willingly even though her heart was torn and traumatized.
- •Mary is rightly the Mother of the Church because of her deep love for her Son’s mission to fulfil His Father’s Will to save all peoples. Let us ask Mary to continue to pray for us.
