Reflection on the WORD
Children – Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaims a special preferential love for children as they are innocent, vulnerable and open to God’s abundant blessings and Truth of Salvation. Ponder on: Children reflects very beautifully the image of God’s Presence; we are called to cultivate their values of the Kingdom of God.
Mark 10:13-16
People were bringing little children to Jesus, for him to touch them. The disciples turned them away, but when Jesus saw this he was indignant and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. I tell you solemnly, anyone who does not welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’
Then he put his arms round them, laid his hands on them and gave them his blessing.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •Jesus is not only preaching about children, He is also reminding us of our need to have the simplicity of nature that does not see malice. Instead we should the joy, the gratitude of heart in small things and the trusting nature that all of us have within us.
- •While it is good to strive for success in life, we tend to develop a complexity that is prejudiced about people and things. Thus, we lose the natural “childlike” gifts that God had given us when He created us.
- •Reflect on your life and ask yourself, “How much childlikeness do I experience within me in my daily living?”
