Reflection on the WORD
Disciples of Jesus: In today’s Gospel, Jesus commissioned His disciples to proclaim the Good News of Salvation, in the Ways that He has shown and taught them, in His ministries. Ponder on, “Do we wish to serve and witness to the Good News, on our own terms and conditions or in Jesus’ Ways?”
Mark 6:7-13
Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out in pairs, giving them authority over unclean spirits. And he instructed them to take nothing for the journey except a staff -- no bread, no haversack, no coppers for their purses. They were to wear sandals but, he added, ‘Don't take a spare tunic.’
And he said to them, ‘If you enter a house anywhere, stay there until you leave the district. And if any place does not welcome you and people refuse to listen to you, as you walk away shake off the dust under your feet as a sign to them.’
So they set off to preach repentance; and they cast out many devils, and anointed many sick people with oil and cured them.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •Jesus, through our Baptism and Confirmation, has given us the same mission He gave to the apostles. We are to spread the good news and bring peace to all peoples.
- •Are we aware of this mission that Jesus has entrusted to us? Are we too bogged down with our own needs that we have neglected this God-given task?
- •Let us be more conscious of this mission of Jesus in our daily living so that we will become God’s instruments of His Truth and peace in the world.
