Reflection on the WORD
“Generosity Faith: In todays Gospel, Jesus praised the poor widows great generosity for putting in all she had to live on, while the rich put in their leftovers. Ponder on, What proportion of our material wealth, time and talents do we use for the good of others and the church? Are we generous like the poor widow in the Gospel?
Luke 21:1-4
As Jesus looked up, he saw rich people putting their offerings into the treasury; and he happened to notice a poverty-stricken widow putting in two small coins, and he said, ‘I tell you truly, this poor widow has put in more than any of them; for these have all contributed money they had over, but she from the little she had has put in all she had to live on.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •The widow in the passage above is an extremely powerful representation of God’s Love and Compassion for those in need.
- •She had so little, but she gave everything. Her total generosity was an expression of how much we too are capable of giving and sharing of ourselves with others; more so when we have much excess for our needs.
- •How is God’s Spirit challenging us to be more concerned and caring to those people who are poor and in need?
