Reflection on the WORD
Children’s Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus showed His preferential love and affectionate compassion for children. He reminded His disciples not the turn them away, but bring them to Him for special blessings. Ponder on, “Are we protective of the vulnerability, innocence and purity of children’s faith in God, when we relate to them?”
Matthew 19:13-15
People brought little children to Jesus, for him to lay his hands on them and say a prayer. The disciples turned them away, but Jesus said, ‘Let the little children alone, and do not stop them from coming to me; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of Heaven belongs.’
Then he laid his hands on them and went on his way.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •The parents brought their children to Jesus because they wanted Him to bestow blessings on them.
- •Children have an openness of heart that is pure and unprejudiced. So, as parents, we too must teach and bring up our children to receive blessings from God, by encouraging them to go to Church and pray.
- •As parents, do we ourselves live our faith fully and fervently enough to engage and influence our children to love Jesus? Is our relationship with Jesus lukewarm such that we are merely passing our superficial faith to them? What is Jesus’ challenge to you today as a parent?
