Reflection on the WORD
Superficial Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus pointed out, with great respect for His Mother, that the greatest Truth is to be faithful to the Word of God that offers Eternal Life. Do we allow our relationships with people and our loved ones to “blind” us from the most important Truth about God our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit?
Matthew 12:46-50
Jesus was speaking to the crowds when his mother and his brothers appeared; they were standing outside and were anxious to have a word with him.
But to the man who told him this Jesus replied, ‘Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?’ And stretching out his hand towards his disciples he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven, he is my brother and sister and mother.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •Jesus is a selfless and compassionate person who wants all peoples to love and serve His Father.
- •Hence, is it any wonder that Jesus too wants us to love and serve His Father’s Will by loving and serving others selflessly and compassionately like Him?
- •Jesus considers those who love and serve others selflessly out of love for Him to be His family, and to be doing His Father’s Will. When we love and serve, do we so out of love for Jesus?
