Reflection on the WORD
Faith – Chosen by God: In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaims to His disciples, “You did not choose Me; no, I chose you; and I commission you to go out and bear fruit; fruit that will last.” Ponder on, “Do I feel honoured that God has chosen me, to share and witness His Good News? Do I have the sincere desire to do so? If so, how?”

John 15:9-17
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my own joy may be in you and your joy be complete. This is my commandment: love one another, as I have loved you.
‘I shall not call you servants any more, because a servant does not know his master's business; I call you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father. You did not choose me, no, I chose you; and I commissioned you to go out and to bear fruit, fruit that will last; so then the Father will give you anything you ask him in my name. What I command you is to love one another.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •Jesus gives His disciples a new commandment -- to love others the way He loves us. True love is evident in sacrificial love. In Jesus’ love for us we find the fullness of grace, life, peace and joy.
- •Jesus speaks of the deep and perfect love that He and His Father has for each other. Jesus too wants us to have a deeper and more personal relationship with Him and His Father.
- •If our lives are fully surrendered to God we will surely find deep peace and joy even though life may be trying. God’s love will be our consolation and strength.
