Reflection on the WORD

Healing – Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus healed the two blind men because they both had strong faith in Him.  Ponder on, “How have we experienced God’s Healing graces?  Were we grateful to Him?  Did we experience a deeper love and commitment for Jesus and grew in our relationship with Him?”

Matthew 9:27-31

As Jesus went on his way two blind men followed him shouting, ‘Take pity on us, son of David.’ And when Jesus reached the house the blind men came up to him and he said to them, ‘Do you believe I can do this?’ They said, ‘Lord, we do.’

Then he touched their eyes saying, ‘According to your faith, let it be done to you.’ And their sight returned. Then Jesus sternly warned them, ‘Take care that no one learns about this.’

But when they had gone away, they talked about him all over the countryside.

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • •Jesus restored the physical and spiritual sight of the two blind men because of their faith and trust in His healing power.
  • •Are there any blind-spots in our lives that keep us from recognizing God’s power and mercy? Jesus is compassionate and merciful to all who earnestly seek His help.
  • •Ask Jesus for the gift of faith to recognize our need for God and His forgiveness and to draw us closer to His healing power.
