Reflection on the WORD
Suffering – Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminded His apostles that He is going to suffer and die in the hands of the enemies of the Gospel of Salvation. Ponder on, “Are we over protective of our own safety and comfort”? “Do we conform and compromise on the practice of our faith, when we are challenged”? What is the Spirit saying to you?
Luke 9:43b-45
At a time when everyone was full of admiration for all he did, Jesus said to his disciples, ‘For your part, you must have these words constantly in mind: The Son of man is going to be delivered into the power of men.’
But they did not understand what he said; it was hidden from them so that they should not see the meaning of it, and they were afraid to ask him about it.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- The followers of Jesus did not expect or accept that the Son of God, the Messiah, would be crucified so shamefully as a criminal.
- We, too, cannot comprehend how God’s infinite love for mankind means dying for all in such a cruel death
- Pray for the grace to love selflessly and the courage to live faithfully according to God’s Will.
