Reflection on the WORD
Choosing Jesus: In today’s Gospel, Jesus says, “If the world hates you, you must realise that it hated Me before it hates you.” Do we dare to stand up for our faith with courage, and condemn injustices? Do we highlight the evils of abortion and uphold the moral practices of our faith, in the Gospel of Jesus?
John 15:18-21
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘If the world hates you, you must realise that it hated me before it hated you. If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you do not belong to the world, because my choice of you has drawn you out of the world, that is why the world hates you.
‘Remember the words I said to you: A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will persecute you too; if they kept my word, they will keep yours as well. But it will be on my account that they will do all this to you, because they do not know the one who sent me.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- When we face rejection and persecution because of our faith, hope and love for Jesus, do not be disheartened and lose hope.
- Jesus Himself has gone through rejection, persecution and even death. Having been through such experiences, He assures His disciples and his followers that He will always be there with us and for us.
- Let us pray that we will persevere and continue to be faithful in our relationship with Him till the end, beginning with our small daily challenges of life. We are consoled that in the end the glory of heaven awaits us.
