Reflection on the WORD
Relationships – Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus affirms that the greatest Truth and the deepest blessings are knowing that we are children of God our Father, who loves us totally and unconditionally. This love embraces God’s Compassion, Care, Protection and Guiding Light; and are beyond our human relationships.
Mark 3:31-35
The mother and brothers of Jesus arrived and, standing outside, sent in a message asking for him. A crowd was sitting round him at the time the message was passed to him, ‘Look, your mother and brothers and sisters are outside asking for you.’
He replied, ‘Who are my mother and my brothers?’ And looking at those sitting in a circle round him, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- Jesus emphasized that all those who live out God’s Words in their lives and obey His Father’s Will are closest to Him and are considered to be in His family.
- Through such Truth, Jesus is presenting a new and radical view of how we as Christian believers are united as one universal family – bonded by God’s Words, Work and Truth.
- Reflect on this Truth further and see how our own family is an “extended” family within this one universal family of the People of God and the Church.
