Reflection on the WORD
Fear - Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus appeared to His disciples, when it was getting dark and the wind and waves were getting strong and rough. Jesus said, “Do not be afraid.” Ponder on this truth, “Jesus is always there for me in my moments of fear and dangers. He continues to love me with His Protective Care.”
John 6:16-21
In the evening the disciples went down to the shore of the sea and got into a boat to make for Capernaum on the other side of the sea. It was getting dark by now and Jesus had still not rejoined them. The wind was strong, and the sea was getting rough.
They had rowed three or four miles when they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming towards the boat. They were afraid, but he said, ‘It's me. Don't be afraid.’ They were ready to take him into the boat, and immediately it reached the shore at the place they were making for.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •The apostles were alone at sea in a storm and were fearful for their lives even though they were experienced fishermen. Jesus calmed them by saying, “Do not be afraid because I am here with you!”
- •When you experienced the storms of temptations, trials and spiritual darkness that threaten to overwhelm you, how did you respond? Did you seek the Lord as your security, strength and help?
- •If we truly trust in God's love, care and believe strongly that He is always present to us, no fears can overwhelm us. Spend a few moments to sense His presence within you now.
