Reflection on the WORD
“Come to Me”: In today’s Gospel, Jesus invites the crowd and us, “Come to Me all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. . . I am gentle and humble in heart.” As we face the challenges of our daily living, let us pray for the wisdom to have a discerning heart to heed Jesus’ voice and seek His Father’s Will.
Mt 11:25-30
Jesus exclaimed, ‘I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to little children. Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased you to do. Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, just as no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- While the world wants us to look up to the learned and clever, Jesus wants us to be simple but truthful in order to find eternal salvation.
- It is Jesus ‘The Word and Life’ who can make God the Father known to us. Therefore to know Jesus is to know His Father in heaven.
- We will never be able to know God’s Truth by our human intellect. We need to be open so that His Truth can be revealed to us. How often do we ponder on God’s Truth and relate it to our lives?
