Reflection on the WORD

The Lord – Messiah” – FaithJesus explained Psalm 110; that the title “Lord” points to the “Messiah”; and not the human son of David. Ponder on, “God’s Mystery is beyond our finite human reality and reasoning. Pray to be enlightened by the Holy Spirit. And with humility, seek God’s Truth; within our obedience to His institutional Church.”

Mark 12:35-37

While teaching in the Temple, Jesus said, ‘How can the scribes maintain that the Christ is the son of David? David himself, moved by the Holy Spirit, said: The Lord declared to my Lord, take your seat at my right hand till I have made your enemies your footstool. David himself calls him Lord; in what way then can he be his son?’ And the great crowd listened to him with delight.

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • When we allow the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts, we perceive certain Truths of God; Truths that a human person cannot make sense of, because they are beyond the reach of the human mind.
  • We are God’s creatures and God is our Lord and Master.
  • If we see ourselves as “lord and master,” we will never be receptive to God’s Truth to help us live our daily lives more meaningfully.
