Reflection on the WORD
“Unity in Faith”: In today’s Gospel, John, said to Jesus that they stopped a man who was “driving out devils in His Name, because he was not one of the apostles. Jesus proclaimed to them that ‘Anyone who is not against us, is for us.’ Ponder on, “When we live Jesus’ Gospel, we are to build unity amongst every person, race and religion, and never be the cause of divisions.”
Mark 9:38-40
John said to Jesus, ‘Master, we saw someone who is not one of us driving out devils in your name, and because he was not one of us we tried to stop him.’
But Jesus said, ‘You must not stop him; no one who works a miracle in my name could soon afterwards speak evil of me. Anyone who is not against us is for us.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- There are many Christians and believers of other faiths e.g. the Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims etc. who are doing much good work and service for the needy and the good of peoples.
- We should learn from them and also support them when we can as we are all serving the same humanity of God’s children.
- Ask the Lord for the wisdom and the openness to see Christ’s Spirit present in all these people so that in spite of our differences in beliefs, we are still able to do good without being divisive due to different religious beliefs
