Reflection on the WORD
Bread of Life – Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaims, “I am the Bread of Life. . . which comes down from heaven, so that a person may eat it and not die.” Ponder on: This Bread of Life that we receive in the Sacrament of the Eucharist, is Jesus’ Real Body and Blood. Pray, for the graces, to value more deeply this divine mystery that gives us Eternal Salvation.
John 6:41-51
Jesus said to the Jews, ‘In all truth I tell you, everyone who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate manna in the desert and they are dead; but this is the bread which comes down from heaven, so that a person may eat it and not die.
‘I am the living bread which has come down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever; and the bread that I shall give is my flesh, for the life of the world.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- In today’ Gospel, Jesus proclaims His divinity when He says: “I am the Bread of Life.”
- This divine gift is given to us at a great price of His suffering and death on the Cross.
- When we receive this “Bread of Life” of Jesus, we too are each called to become “bread that is broken” for the good and salvation of others. Challenge yourself to be actively involved in pastoral ministries and doing corporal works of mercy even though they may be demanding and humiliating.
