Reflection on the WORD

Jesus’ Love for us:  In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaimed that He deeply desires to Love us and for us to receive His Fullness of Joy.  However, we are to keep His Commandments.  Ponder on: We each long to be loved by Jesus and to experience His Joy.  To experience this is to have received great consolations from God; that the world and no one can give.

John 15:9-11

Jesus said to his disciples, ‘As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my own joy may be in you and your joy be complete.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word

As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

  • Jesus said to His disciples: ‘I have loved you just as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.’ Do I find this to be true in my own life?
  • How have I experienced Jesus’ love for me personally in my own life? Who showed me this love? How was it conveyed to me?
  • Am I being challenged to show my love for God in Jesus for others? How can I   do it?
