Conversion of St Paul, Apostle: Thursday 25th January, 2024 January 25, 2024
Reflection on the WORD
Paul’s Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaims that the Good News of Salvation must be evangelisedto all peoples. Ponder on: St Paul fulfils God’s Mission with great passion, and fearlessness. He imitates Jesus’ Ways of serving the Father’s Will; even dying as a martyr. How willing are we to ‘die to ourselves’ in order to live our faith more wholeheartedly?
Mark 16:15-18
Jesus showed himself to the Eleven said to them, ‘Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.
‘These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they will cast out devils; they will have the gift of tongues; they will pick up snakes in their hands and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they will lay their hands on the sick, who will recover.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?

- It is important that we live in hope as we can easily be discouraged by the pains and sufferings in the world. Jesus continues to send His Holy Spirit to us to renew and strengthen the body of Christ and to equip it for effective ministry and mission work world-wide.
- Do you witness to others the joy of the Good News of salvation? As we are each missioned by Christ to be herald of the Good News through the witness of our daily living, is Jesus proud of our work?
