Reflection on the WORD
The Holy Family: In today’s Gospel, the “Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph” as devout Jews, observed the Laws of Moses. They then returned to Nazareth, where Jesus grew in God’s Wisdom and favour. Ponder on: Obeying God’s Will includes obeying the Laws and leaders of the Church i.e. the Sacraments, Teachings; and not just practicing our faith as we wish personally.
Luke 2:22, 39-40
When the day came for them to be purified in keeping with the Law of Moses, the parents of Jesus took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord.
When they had done everything the Law of the Lord required, they went back to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. Meanwhile the child grew to maturity and he was filled with wisdom; and God's favour was with him.

- The “Holy Family” is the model family for the world and for all times. Mary and Joseph discerned and lived God’s Will throughout their lives regardless of how painful and difficult their challenges were.
- They had their deepest desires rooted in God and living only for God and obeying His Will.
- As parents, how can we be models to our children especially when we face the painful challenges of our family and married vocation?
