Reflection on the WORD
Faith – Wisdom: In today’s Gospel, Jesus presented the “Parable of the Fig Tree” to proclaim the Truth of the Presence of the “Kingdom of God” in our midst. Ponder on: Jesus reminds us that with the gift of faith, we also have the gift of wisdom to know and discern God’s Presence and Workings in our lives. Do we live our faith in wisdom?
Luke 21:29-33
Jesus told his disciples a parable, ‘Look at the fig tree and indeed every tree. As soon as you see them bud, you can see for yourselves that summer is now near. So with you when you see these things happening: know that the kingdom of God is near.
‘In truth I tell you, before this generation has passed away all will have taken place. Sky and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- In this reading, Jesus is warning us of spiritual blindness. Do not follow what the world calls love, or excuses for love. We are to have the love and compassion of our Lord and be Christ-like.
- When we are open and receptive to God’s word, His Kingdom takes root in our hearts, buds and bears fruits of righteousness, peace, and joy.
- The certainty of prophetic judgment should cause one to do a lot of soul searching, examine one’s faith and discern how we stand before God. Are you ready for Christ’s return?
