Reflection on the WORD
Openness in Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus praised and thanked His Father in heaven for “revealing His Truth and Will” to “mere children.” Ponder on: Jesus is inviting us to live our faith with total openness and trust in God’s Truth and Ways, and with a love that is humble, joyous and faithful, regardless of the challenges.
Matthew 11:25-27
Jesus exclaimed, ‘I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to mere children. Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased you to do. Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, just as no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.’

- •In today’s Gospel Jesus exclaims that His Father in heaven reveals His Wisdom and Truth to those with child-like simplicity and humility of heart. This disposition opens us to God’s grace and truth.
- •Thus, intellectual pride shuts our minds from the love and Truth of God. It is also the root of all vices and makes us cold and indifferent to God and people and reality in all situations.
- •Do you submit to God's Word with simple trust and humility? Ask for the grace of child-like simplicity so that we can love and know God personally.
