Reflection on the WORD
Rejection of Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus reprimanded the crowd for refusing to believe in Him as the Messiah. Ponder on: We know of people who refuse to believe in Jesus; some even mock at Him. Let us value the gift of faith; that gives us the divine wisdom to embrace the challenges of life; never doubt in Jesus the Good Shepherd.
John 10:22-28
It was the time when the feast of Dedication was being celebrated in Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was in the Temple walking up and down in the Portico of Solomon. The Jews gathered round him and said, ‘How much longer are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.’
Jesus replied: ‘I have told you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father's name are my witness; but you do not believe, because you are no sheep of mine. The sheep that belong to me listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life; they will never be lost and no one will ever steal them from me.’

- •Jesus is the Good Shepherd who would risk His life even to the point of dying to seek out and save the lost sheep. He is our Good Shepherd, Saviour and Protector of all souls.
- •Being a sheep and having Jesus as the Good Shepherd, death would not be the end but the beginning of eternal life of glory with God in heaven.
- •In our daily living, we are often challenged to make Christ-like choices. Do our lifestyles witness to Jesus as our Good Shepherd or the false shepherd of the secular world of self-centredness?
