Reflection on the WORD
God’s Word – Salvation: In today’s Gospel, Jesus assures His disciples that regardless of what happens, God’s Truth of the Gospel of Salvation will never be destroyed. Ponder on, “Is our heart open to what God’s Spirit wants to reveal to us through our daily experiences or do we live our faith superficially?”
Luke 21:29-33
Jesus told his disciples a parable, ‘Look at the fig tree and indeed every tree. As soon as you see them bud, you know that summer is now near. So with you when you see these things happening: know that the kingdom of God is near.
‘I tell you solemnly, before this generation has passed away all will have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •Jesus is challenging us to be aware that while we are able to analyse the happenings in this world around us (both natural and secular), we too should learn to sense God’s presence in our daily living.
- •In today’s Gospel Jesus is also telling us that we should keep watch, for the Second Coming of Christ can be a very sudden and unexpected.
- •Thus, we should live a life that is vigilant of God’s workings in our life; not so much out of fear but out of prudence and love for the Lord. Do you feel challenged by this truth?
