Reflection on the WORD
Discipleship of Jesus: In todays Gospel, Jesus proclaims to His disciples and us, that we are all called to follow Him with a single-minded passion, like a wheat grain that dies, and yields a rich harvest. Ponder on, How willing are we to make the daily sacrifices and endure the challenges in our witness and service as Jesus disciples?
John 12:24-26
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘I tell you most solemnly, unless a wheat grain falls on the ground and dies, it remains only a single grain; but if it dies it yields a rich harvest.
‘Anyone who loves his life loses it; anyone who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If a man serves me, he must follow me, wherever I am, my servant will be there too. If anyone serves me, my Father will honour him.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •There is a constant challenge to want to be a faithful follower of Jesus and our interior struggle of being attracted by the glory and glamour of the secular society.
- •However, deep within us, we know that there is only one authentic way of living; we cannot have both.
- •A true disciple of Jesus is one who is life-giving. Thus, we have to learn to choose to live in Jesus’ ways at all times: the way of the Cross demands our “dying to ourselves – our pride” daily so that the Christ within us can “surface” and shine forth to others.
