Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, Joseph: Sunday 27th December, 2020 December 27, 2020
Reflection on the WORD
“Holy Family”: Today’s Gospel episode captures the “Purification” of the Child Jesus in the Temple. As we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family, let us “consecrate” our family to God’s Protection, Guidance and Love. Let us pray for all families, especially those who are undergoing through much pain and suffering.
Luke 2:22, 39-40
When the day came for them to be purified in keeping with the Law of Moses, the parents of Jesus took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord.
When they had done everything the Law of the Lord required, they went back to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth. Meanwhile the child grew to maturity and he was filled with wisdom; and God's favour was with him.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •Prophet Simeon recognised Christ the Lord in the child that Mary brought to the Temple. Do we recognize Jesus’ presence in the Eucharist and are we inspired to live like Him?
- •Mary, Joseph and Prophet Simeon lived their faith in God fully and were filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit in their daily living and in their observances of their religious beliefs.
- •How faithful are we to the teachings of Christ and the Church? Let us ask the Holy Spirit to guide our daily living so that we may live more fully as Christians and in God’s service.
