Reflection on the WORD
Messiah – True Hope: We celebrate the Birth ofJesus the Messiah during the Covid-19 pandemiccrises, and other crises in the Church and the world. Let us then renew our faith with deeper conviction, that the True Hope needed to dispel today’s Darkness will be realized by the Light of Jesus the Messiah.
John 1:1, 9-14
In the beginning was the Word: the Word was with God and the Word was God. The Word was the real light that gives light to everyone; he was coming into the world. He was in the world that had come into being through him, and the world did not recognise him. He came to his own and his own people did not accept him. But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believed in his name who were born not from human stock or human desire or human will but from God himself.
The Word became flesh, he lived among us, and we saw his glory, the glory that he has from the Father as only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •Why did the Word become fully human like us in all things, but sin? When God became like us, humankind is sanctified through the Incarnation.
- •When we accept Jesus as our Saviour and Lord, at Baptism, we become God the Father’s sons and daughters.
- •As a child of God, reflect on your life and ask the Holy Spirit to show you how you can live a life that is worthy of your relationship as a creature-child to God the Almighty.
