Reflection on the WORD
God Centred Life: In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds His apostles, that they are to put God at the centre of everything, especially when they are proclaiming the Gospel of Salvation. The Holy Spirit will never fail to enlighten and empower them in their mission. Like the apostles, we are to trust God totally always.

9 Days Novena Prayers to Sacred Heart of Jesus starts from Thursday 11th June 2020, leading to Solemnity of Sacred Heart on Friday 19th June 2020.
SACRED HEART OF JESUS NOVENA PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, the needs of your people open your heart in love to each of us. You care for us when we are lost, sympathise with us in lonliness and comfort us in mourning; you are closest to us when we are at our weakest. You love us most when we love ourselves least; you forgive us most when we forgive ourselves least; you call us to spread your love in whatever way we can.
Lord Jesus, your heart is moved with compassion when we are suffering, when we need your help, and when we pray for each other. I ask you to listen to my prayer during this novena, and grant what I ask (make your own request silently). If what I ask is not for my own good or the good of others, grant me always what is best, that I may build up your Kingdom of love in our world. Amen.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.
Matthew 5:33-37
Jesus said to his disciples: ‘Again, you have heard how it was said to our ancestors, You must not break your oath, but must fulfil your oaths to the Lord. But I say this to you, do not swear at all, either by heaven, since that is God's throne; or by earth, since that is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, since that is the city of the great King. Do not swear by your own head either, since you cannot turn a single hair white or black.
‘All you need say is “Yes” if you mean yes, “No” if you mean no; anything more than this comes from the Evil One.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- As God’s children, we are always living in His Presence andProvidence. Thus, our ‘yes’ and ‘no’ answers should be made with commitment.
- In making serious promises e.g. raise our children in God’s ways, be faithful to our spouses, etc. if we go back on our word, we deny God too. He was also a witness to the promises we made.
- Pray for God’s strength and guidance to live out the promises we made to Him especially those that pertain to our vocation and our Creed.
