Reflection on the WORD
Clamouring for Jesus: In today’s Gospel, great crowds were clamouring for Jesus and followed Him wherever He went. bringing people with all kinds of sickness to Him to be cured. When we “clamour” for Jesus, do we do so out of sincere love for Him, or with the ulterior motives of seeking our own needs?
Mark 6:53-56
Having made the crossing, Jesus and his disciples came to land at Gennesaret and moored there. When they disembarked people at once recognised him, and started hurrying all through the countryside and brought the sick on stretchers to wherever they heard he was. And wherever he went, to village or town or farm, they laid down the sick in the open spaces, begging him to let them touch even the fringe of his cloak. And all those who touched him were saved.

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- The poor, the sick, the needy and the homeless had a special place in Jesus’ compassionate heart. As followers of Jesus, we are also called to be compassionate to all these people.
- How ought my attitude towards others change so that I can be more Christ-like to the needy, homeless and the aged?
- Ask Jesus to inspire you to live more fully for His people who are in need of healing and to know the Word of God.
