Reflection on the WORD
“Emotional and Spiritual Blindness”: Many of us are emotionally blind and cause much hurt and harm to people we love. When our conscience is numbed, we are “spiritually blind”. Pray for God’s Merciful and healing graces to love in Christ-like ways, especially those whom we find difficult to love.
Luke 6:39-42
Jesus told a parable to his disciples, ‘Can one blind person guide another? Surely both will fall into a pit? Disciple is not superior to teacher; but fully trained disciple will be like teacher. Why do you observe the splinter in your brother's eye and never notice the great log in your own?
‘How can you say to your brother, “Brother, let me take out that splinter in your eye,” when you cannot see the great log in your own? Hypocrite! Take the log out of your own eye first, and then you will see clearly enough to take out the splinter in your brother's eye.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •We need to be cautious in what we say about people. Though we need to form opinions, this is different from being judgmental and gossipy about others.
- •Who are we to judge? We are all humans and make mistakes. Let God be the judge. His judgment is just and compassionate.
- •Each time we forgive others, they are also forgiven by God. Their sins are not remembered in heaven. Ponder on this for a few moments and ask the Spirit to lead and guide you in your relationship with others.
