Reflection on the WORD
God’s Will: In today’s Gospel, Jesus places the fulfilment of His Father’s Will as top priority in everything that He does and lives. He adds that those who does the Will of God is His spiritual family. Do we pray for the gift to be humble and discerning persons of God’s Will or do we let our will prevail?
Mk 3:31-35
The mother and brothers of Jesus arrived and, standing outside, sent in a message asking for him. A crowd was sitting round him at the time the message was passed to him, ‘Look, your mother and brothers and sisters are outside asking for you.’
He replied, ‘Who are my mother and my brothers?’ And looking at those sitting in a circle round him, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother.’

Today's Pointers on God's Word
As you read the passage what words, phases or meanings caught your attention?
- •In today’s gospel, Jesus says that ‘anyone who does the Will of God, that person is my brother and sister and mother.’ Thus, we are all reminded that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ.
- •Through these words, we as Christians are reminded that we should be instruments of peace and unity in families, neighbours and wherever we may be in the world.
- •Loving and caring for the poor, the old, the disadvantaged and those exploited by society is living God’s Word and doing His Will. How is the Holy Spirit challenging you to be His instrument of peace, unity and compassion in your daily living?
